Monkey 47 Gin 0.50 Ltr is a craft gin produced by Black Forest Distillers in the Black Forest of Germany. The name “Monkey 47” refers both to the alcohol content of 47 % vol and to the number of botanicals (47) used in the gin to create a highly complex and layered flavor profile . These botanicals include classic gin elements such as juniper berries and coriander, but also less common regional ingredients such as cranberries and spruce shoots, contributing to a unique range of aromas and flavors.
In production, the botanicals are first macerated and then distilled in small batches; the spirit then rests briefly in earthenware casks before being bottled. The result is a gin with intense citrus, floral, and spicy notes, supported by a rich juniper base and subtle earthiness. Due to its complexity, this gin is loved by both cocktail professionals and connoisseurs, and forms an excellent base for classic and modern gin cocktails such as Gin & Tonic, Martini, or Negroni, but can also pure or with ice drunk to appreciate the botanical layers.
