Molinari Sambuca 1L is an iconic Italian liqueur from the traditional sambuca category, made with a secret family formula of star anise seed, sugar, herbs and aromatic spices. Production takes place in Italy, where the Molinari distillery has been producing sambuca based on craft and heritage since 1945. The designation “Extra” which is often used by Molinari, indicates a higher quality and more intense anise flavor.

This liqueur opens with intense aromas of anise and licorice, with subtle floral and spicy nuances, and has a sweet, full and aromatic flavor profile that lasts a long time. The texture is often slightly creamy and rich, which contributes to a comfortable, balanced finish in which the anise clearly manifests itself. Molinari Sambuca is versatile: it can be drunk pure or on the rocks as a digestif, with three roasted coffee beans (“con la mosca”) according to Italian tradition, but it is also used to flavor cocktails and mixed drinks.
