Description

Kopke Tawny Port No. 18 0.7L is a classic tawny port produced by Kopke, one of the oldest port house producers in Portugal (founded in 1638) who is known for traditional production methods and long barrel aging of port wines. Tawny ports such as these are made from traditional Douro grapes and undergo oxidative maturation in oak barrels, leading to a characteristic amber to brown-orange color and matured aromas of dried fruit, nuts, caramel and subtle spices.

The “No.18” designation generally refers to the character of the port with a longer barrel aging (in the style of a statement of age), giving the wine a deep complexity and soft texture with a balance between sweet fruit notes and a dry, elegant finish. Kopke Tawny Port No. 18 can be slightly chilled drunk with desserts such as nut cakes, chocolate or caramel dishes, but also on its own as a digestif.
