Kopke Ruby Port No. 59 0.75 L is a classic Fine Ruby Port produced by Kopke, the oldest port house in the world that has been making port wines since 1638. This Ruby Port is blended from wines of different vintages to blend and to enhance with wine alcohol to preserve the natural sweetness. Unlike older tawny ports that mature for a long time oxidatively, Ruby Port undergoes a shorter aging period in stainless steel or large barrels, resulting in it lively fruity character remains intact.
The port has a deep ruby red color and opens with intense fruity aromas of ripe red and black fruit, such as cherries and berries, followed by hints of chocolate or light spices. The taste is smooth, full, and fruity with a pleasant freshness and soft sweetness, with a harmonious balance between fruity aromas and sweet tones. Kopke Ruby Port No. 59 is ideal as an aperitif or with desserts such as chocolate or fruit desserts, or with soft cheeses.
