Description
Karlsbader Becherovka 1L is a classic, age-old herbal liqueur from the spa town of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. The product was first sold in 1807 and has since been continuously produced according to a secret recipe with approximately 20 different herbs and spices, including cinnamon, cloves and citrus elements, which form the characteristic taste and aromatic structure.
The liqueur is built around an alcohol base, spring water from the Karlovy Vary region, sugar and the complex spice mix. This results in a herbal, slightly bitter taste with notes of herbs, spices, citrus and a dry, fresh aftertaste. Becherovka is traditionally served ice-chilled and can also be used in cocktails; a well-known example is the BeTon, a mix of Becherovka with tonic water and lemon or lime.
Karlsbader Becherovka is known as a digestif and as a cultural icon of the Czech Republic and is imported worldwide.
