Jack Daniel’s Black Label 1 L is the flagship Tennessee whiskey from Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Tennessee, United States, and one of the best-selling whiskeys worldwide. It is made from a mash bill of corn, rye, and barley and undergoes the Lincoln County Processprocess, where the whiskey is filtered drop by drop through 10 feet (about 3 meters) of sugar maple charcoal before aging in new charred oak barrels. This process provides its characteristic smoothness and fresh body and distinguishes it from other American whiskies.
Jack Daniel’s Black Label has a amber color with an aroma of vanilla, caramel and lightly roasted oak, complemented by subtle hints of sweet fruit and spices. On the palate it is balanced with soft sweet-to-caramel tones, warm oak and a light spicy finish that works well pure, with ice or as a component in whiskey cocktails such as Whiskey Sour, Lynchburg Lemonade or a classic Old Fashioned.
