Hennessy XO 0.7L is a extra old cognac produced in the Cognac region of France by Maison Hennessy, one of the most recognized cognac houses worldwide. The term XO stands for “Extra Old” and indicates that the youngest component in the blend has been aged for at least ten years in French oak barrels, but many of the used eaux-de-vie are significantly older, up to several decades.
This cognac is composed of a blend of more than one hundred eaux-de-vie from different crus of the Cognac region. Through long aging and careful selection, the drink develops a deep amber hue and a rice, complex profile. In aroma and flavor, usually spiced fruit, dried fruits, warm spices like cinnamon and pepper, hints of dark chocolate, vanilla, and oak come forward, followed by a long, warm finish.
Hennessy XO is intended for slow savoring and can be served neat or on ice, but it also works with a small amount of water to further open up the aromas. Due to its complexity, it is a cognac appreciated by connoisseurs and often consumed on special occasions or as a digestif after a meal.
