The “VS” classification (Very Special) means that the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has been aged for at least two years in Limousin or Tronçais oak barrels, creating a dynamic, accessible profile is created. The blend itself contains Eau‑de‑vie from various crus of the Cognac region to ensure a consistent taste profile.
In the glass, Hennessy VS shows a bright amber hue with an aromatic nose in which notes of fruit (such as pear and citrus), roasted almond, vanilla and light oak notes emerge. On the palette, the cognac is balanced and complete, with fruity accents, soft spiciness and subtle hints of spices, leading to a smooth and relatively short, warm finish.
