Cuervo Gold 1L (also known as Jose Cuervo Especial Gold) is a Mexican tequila with an alcohol content of around 38%–40%vol. It is a gold tequila (joven/golden style) made by blending younger and partly slightly matured tequilas, with a fresh, slightly sweet and subtly agave-driven profile with hints of vanilla, oak and fragrant citrus. This tequila is often used in cocktails such as the Margarita, but can also be served neat or with ice.

Cuervo Gold 1L, usually sold as Jose Cuervo Especial® Gold, is one of the most recognizable and globally consumed tequilas and comes from Jalisco, Mexico. It is a golden style tequila which is obtained by blending younger Blanco tequilas with some light maturing components (reposado), resulting in a light gold colored drink with a slightly richer character than Blanco tequilas.

The smell and taste are generally fresh and accessible, with clear agave nuts and a mild sweetness, combined with light wood influences, vanilla and soft citrus or herbal aromas. This makes Cuervo Gold a versatile tequila for use in classic cocktails such as Margaritas (partly inspired by Cuervo’s role in its popularization) or in other mixed drinks, but it can also be drunk pure or with ice.
